Trishy's Story...

Building the TIPS brand has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. A lot of people are of the opinion that, “It’s just a press-on nail business, how hard could it be?” Well, let me tell you… My business journey started at one of the hardest times of my life.

We had moved to a new location away from our family and friends, my hubby had lost his job, and I was overweight, sick, and depressed. I’d suffered from Osteoarthritis for years, I was dealing with perimenopause, and I’d recently been diagnosed with PMDD. Due to my health circumstances, I was unable to commit to a standard 9-5 job, so it made sense to find a vocation that would work around my ailments.

While we had a successful business at the time, always forward-thinking, during COVID I made the decision to study to gain a certificate in ‘Nail Technology’. Moving to our new location meant my hobby became a necessity. Unfortunately, with my health deteriorating, I found I couldn’t perform services as fast as I had liked; also, the long hours in the chair were painful. I was at my lowest emotionally and physically, feeling like a failure.

It was during this time that I quite naturally fell into the press-on nail scene. The quality of the luxury press-ons that were being created was next-level gorgeous: beautiful chromes, glitters, foils, and cat eyes. I quickly came to the conclusion that press-ons were the answer to my prayers. I could still do what I loved and create beautiful nails that would not only serve me, but also the beautiful women that wear them. An instant-wear solution, so busy women didn’t have to worry about long salon visits.

Starting this “little press-on business” has been hard. But it has been totally worth it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes. But I’ve learned so much along the way. I look forward to serving a community of strong, self-motivated women like myself, who are unapologetically themselves, striving to better themselves for their loved ones and the people in their lives.

Trishy’s journey with PMDD

Trishy was recently diagnosed with PMDD - Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder. A severe form of PMS that affects 1 in 20 women. Having been adversely affected by this condition since her teens, knowing first hand the severe consequences if left unmanaged.
